About us

History

KSD was founded in 2002 to provide web programming services for the business environment in Romania. Since the very beginning we addressed to the SME sector - small and medium enterprises with 1-50 employees and a turnover of up to 10 million Euro / year.

During the first years, 2003-2006, we offered mainly web design services, making more than 100 websites for various clients. But because our plans were more ambitious, in 2006 we developed the first Romanian turnkey e-commerce solution: Magazinosaurus Rex. In order to strengthen the brand position as market leaders, from July 2007 we have not taken any orders for website creation, investing resources only in maintaining and improving the e-commerce platform. Thus we managed to make Magazinosaurus Rex one of the most popular products on the Romanian Internet. Magazinosaurus Rex currently runs on more than 170 online stores in Romania and we managed to develop a network of 10 distributors who resell the software and helps us to improve its market position.

In 2008 we created the most simple and convenient existing CMS on the domestic market: "Floare la ureche" (Piece of cake). We created "Floare la ureche" mainly to provide services to customers seeking web site design presentation that can be built quickly and conveniently and can be later updated without a highly technical effort. Compared to other CMS sites used in Romania, such as Joomla or Drupal, "Floare la ureche" is so simple and easy to use, that its simplicity is its power. We will relaunch the web design service in the autumn of 2008, and we will address only to the customers wanting budget, small and elegant presentation website.

Evolution and strategy

Currently KSD has 5 permanent staff. Generally, we do not work with freelancers and we make everything possible (even sacrifices) to develop the business on a core of permanent employees. By 2010 we hope to reach 10 full-time employees.

The share of revenues from the sale of products and services adjacent to our own products has increased from 3% in 2006 to over 90% in 2008. Among the future plans some include the development of other interesting products such as:

• billing and management software integrated with Magazinosaurus Rex, thus MRex will become an ERP system for e-commerce; Done!... it's called MRex System
• a software for insurance brokers;

We have made the first step, we are currently making the second, but we also believe that climbing in a cab would rush the things a bit.
